Our Introductory Lesson for New Climbers is an introduction to the fundamentals of rock climbing and a perfect first climbing experience for anyone that is curious about the sport!

You will climb outdoors up to 30 meters on a top-rope protected route and gain an understanding of the equipment and basic safety systems used in climbing. Our expert instructors will make sure that you feel confident throughout the lesson. They will patiently explain all concepts, answer your questions and give you lots of tips and coaching as you climb!

The lesson is 100% practical - you will learn all concepts on the rock and immediately have the opportunity to practice them

Lesson details

Experience rock climbing in the gorgeous Rio de Janeiro setting with professional instruction from our certified AGUIPERJ instructors! We offer a practical, fun approach to climbing with a strong focus on safe practices.

This lesson is ideal for first-time rock climbers, as well as those that have indoor experience but have never climbed outside before!

Lead and top-rope belaying

No rock climbing or outdoor experience is required

What is included

Certified rock climbing instructor

Your individual rock climbing equipment: rock shoes, harness, helmet, belay/rappel device and accessories. Please indicate your sizes in the booking form

Collective rock climbing equipment: rope, quickdraws and anchor building equipment


What you should bring

A piece of personal ID (required to enter the climbing area)

Water (1L per person) and snacks

Sunscreen and bug repellent

Backpack to carry your belongings and keep your hands and arms free. Handbags and shoulder bags are not permitted

Wear outdoor shoes with good traction on rock. Flip-flops and casual sandals should be avoided
